Social Stars Program

Our Social Stars Program is designed to meet the unique social and emotional needs of children and teens with Aspergers Syndrome and related disorders. We work to assess the social and emotional needs of your child to develop an effective treatment strategy. The Social Stars Program provides individual and group skills instruction using games, art and videos. Our small groups have a maximum of four children or teens. We focus on helping your child develop peer relationship skills such as reading social cues, maintaining eye contact, reciprocity in conversation, managing anger and anxiety, and more. We also work with your child individually to help him or her develop necessary skills in a more personalized manner and to move into a small group when appropriate.

Parents are expected to participate in the treatment process to increase their child’s success in generalizing the skills to their everyday lives. We can work with parents to help them find effective ways to advocate for their child in school, neighborhood, etc.
